Security Features of the Czechia VRC

The Osvědčení o Registraci Vozidla (Czechia VRC) Part 1 incorporates advanced security features to prevent counterfeiting and ensure the document’s authenticity.

Security Feature 1 – Watermark:

One of the primary security measures is the integration of a watermark. This watermark can be verified easily by viewing the document with the naked eye or using a magnifying glass.

The watermark enhances the document’s protection against fraudulent replication, as it is challenging for counterfeiters to replicate this feature accurately. Vehicle owners and authorities can swiftly authenticate the document’s validity by examining the watermark.

Security Feature 2 – Colour-Shifting Ink:

Another security feature on the front of the document, precisely located at the bottom left corner, is the colour-shifting ink. This ink contains a unique hue-changing property, transitioning from blue to green when viewed from different angles or under varying light conditions.

Verifying this feature requires only the naked eye and light from either the top or an oblique angle. When tilting the document, the linden leaf printed with the colour-shifting ink will shift in colour, making it an unmistakable proof of authenticity.

Overview of the Czech Republic Vehicle Registration Certificate Part 2

Before 2015, the Osvědčení o Registraci Vozidla (Czechia VRC) comprised two essential parts, each specifically recording and verifying crucial details about registered vehicles. Part 1, as discussed earlier, contains the physical description and key information about the vehicle owner, holder, and those with legal rights to use the vehicle. Part 2 played an equally significant role, providing a comprehensive record of the vehicle’s technical specifications and characteristics.

However, according to the information on the European Commission‘s road safety website, since introducing the new Czechia VRC in 2015, issuing a separate Part 2 for new vehicle registrations was discontinued. Instead, the comprehensive technical information previously contained in Part 2 is now integrated into the current (post-2015) Part 1 of the registration document.
